Let’s say, we sell French Eddie for £20-25 million, with rumours rife that the club (after flushing £35 million down the toilet) along with the money they could have made if the 10IAR had of been achieved, should Celtic limit to scope to plundering the best of what the SPFL has to offer for their rebuild? Would fans object to any of the below players coming in?
1): Lewis Ferguson ( Scott Brown natural replacement)
2): Declan Gallagher (Center Back)
3): Stephen O’Donnell (Right Back)
4): Allan Campbell (Midfielder, to replace McGregor if he heads to Leicester )
5): Ryan Porteous (Center-Back)
6): Martin Boyle ( Forrests Back-up)
7): Kevin Nisbet ( Kimala or The Griff replacement)
@euan.davidson There you have it then Euan, confirmed with that link. Think about it, Sevco aka ‘The Govan Globetrotters’ have put together a team of 'No body’s but as a unit that have a lot to prove and in that wanting to prove everybody wrong (along with being well-coached) they have punched above their weight in Europe for that last 2 years. That list of players with the right manager, combined with the players that will be staying, could be a good team
@StrangeAttractions@euan.davidson They could alright fello Celts, unfortunately, we Celtic fans are surrounded by morons of the highest order within the boardroom of Celtic Park, that clearly know next to nothing about football.
I can’t believe with the 10-year head start advantage that we had over the ‘The Govan Globetrotters’ that for the past 2 years ( and with another away win tonight) that they are the ones leading the charge for Scotland in Europe, I’m absolutely and utterly embarrassed for every Celtic fan this year. I sick to the back teeth with the cluelessness of Lawwell, Bankier and Desmond, petty, insolent men that they are, I’m sick of Neil Lennon, I’m fed up with his blatant lies and delusions of grandeur, he’s the most deluded manager in British football.
What saddens me even more, is, Celtic fans are now sitting at a critical point in time, where they have all the power in the cusp of their hands coming up to season ticket renewals, to force the changes that are needed within Celtic but there’s just too many ‘Happy Clappers’ with all sorts of BS excuses as to why they need to keep their season ticket, that will squander this rare opportunity to effect change by and renewing without question, Lennon keeps his job and the Tory driven board will continue onwards BSing the fans as usual.
I agree, I’m not mad about that list whatsoever. Players built around a team, not a team built around players, if that makes sense. We just need the right people in charge to make that happen.
There was some talk in various outlets before about not just wanting players linked with the club because they’re Celtic supporters/connected to the club (like Gallagher, McCarthy, etc) and case by case, to be fair, but it would sure be nice to see more players out there with an understanding of what things like the 10 actually mean & fighting for a love of the crest over their heart.
Yeah I’m a bit like Ryan myself. Not so sure the talent is actually there at the minute outside of Kevin Nisbet. Even then I’m still not totally convinced he’s ready for a move to Celtic just yet. But when I hear us being interested in the likes of Stephen O’Donnell, Declan Gallagher, and Martin Boyle - it just doesn’t get me excited to be honest. I love the idea in principle though. There’s no denying we’ve missed out on a host of top players by penny-pinching with other Scottish clubs in the past.
