Ange the Mastermind, joyous Jota; 3 things we learned as Celtic beat Ferencvaros

Originally published at: Wise Ange, joyous Jota; 3 things we learned from Celtic v Ferencvaros

When Ferencvaros rolled into town today, Celtic had a pretty clear agenda: nothing but a win would really do. The Hungarian champions were coming in with a clear mandate. Facing a busy Celtic Park this time, Ferencvaros also started the day with no points in the Europa League. With Celtic getting backing from a raucous…

Sorry to disagree but none of the back four could make a pass today and Starfelt and. Carter Vickers are one of the worst pairings I have seen.

Loved how Ralston stepped in after Kyoto was fouled. He’s clearly the enforcer on the team.

Liked the look of GG when he came on. Time to give him 90 mins.

But they did keep a clean sheet, did they not?

Against better teams they won’t though.

Aye right, whatever!

We should have had 5, Kyogo is just a joy to watch. Jota GET HIM SIGNED, A Little casual at the back toward the end but the game wasn’t in danger, what a tonic and evem more pleasing is Ange has pretty much a full squad to pick from. Give him what he needs I’m January and the league is within reach, especially as the Huns are wobbling. A right wee tonic that score tonight thankyou Celtic. :green_heart::shamrock::ireland:

What game did you watch? They had a couple o wobbles, far from the worst pairing i have seen. What age are you millie 10. Always a negative comment, or are you a current bun in disguise. :face_with_monocle:

I am nearly sixty so I have seen many very good central defenders in that time. These two don’t come close. Nice to see anyone who has an opinion different from yours must be a Hun. All opinions are valid whether you agree or not.

I always read in the comments here that it’s the young fans that are entitled and don’t know what they’re talking about but whenever there’s someone on here talking nonsense they always follow it up with, ‘I’ve been watching Celtic for 40/50 years’ or ‘I’m in my sixties so I know more than you because I assume you’re young and know nothing’:rofl:
I’m paraphrasing, obviously.

I never said that. I was replying to a previous post asking my age. I don’t think young fans are entitled or behave that way or are stupid as you claim. What I take exception to is being labelled a Hun because I didn’t agree with a previous poster.I think I will leave this site as I am clearly not positive enough for some posters who don’t accept any criticism of the club. They see everything through rose coloured glasses.

That was a great result and spells of some fantastic play and was good to see us continue to play at the pace Ange wants to see his group play for a longer period today.
For all the knockers who said he was one dimensional and clueless that was a nice reminder that yesterday was the first time he had a bench he could use and make changes.
I’m certainly not a hun but it worried me too defensively and i thought it was good to see Scales replace Montgomery as Left back was a very weak area in our formation yesterday.
When i think about the shambolic summer of who will be our boss and when will we get players that was great to see us beat a team like that in Europe comfortably.
We are far from the side the manager wants but even at this stage we are at least exciting to watch.
As a support we should collectively get behind the Manager and help close this (it will take them 3 seasons to compete again) or get higher than 4th place our real enemies hope for.
A clever transfer window and we could well be champions again away away.

Sorry if I offended, I was just having a bit of fun. Don’t leave, us blindly optimistic fans need a bit of pessimism now and then. :+1:t2::+1:t2::four_leaf_clover::four_leaf_clover:

Juranovic could play left back as he did before. Better than what we have there. Could Ralston convert to midfield? I just don’t like to leave talent on the bench. He or Bitton would be a more solid m/f option than over-rated Rogic.

I’ve said in the past I think ralston could be trained as that defensive midfielder just so we can keep him in and around the team, he gives his all and his commitment is second to none

That’s actually not a bad shout at all. Would like to see that.
