Supporters are right to be frustrated. We’re deep into the window, the season is closing in, and Celtic once again look slow, hesitant, and underprepared in the transfer market. And the worrying part? We’ve been here before — and we paid the price.
Last season proved what happens when you don’t strengthen**
We went into Europe undercooked, under‑resourced, and relying on the same core players to carry the load. The result?
Knocked out of the UCL playoff by Kairat Almaty. How embarrassing was that!!
A tie we should never be losing. A tie that exposed the lack of depth, lack of physicality, and lack of investment.
That wasn’t bad luck. That was a squad that wasn’t reinforced properly.

- no real pace or creativity added
- no sign of urgency
It’s déjà vu — and supporters are sick of it.
MON needs backed properly, not with excuses**
Martin O’Neill knows exactly what this team needs. He’s not asking for vanity signings or long‑term projects. He’s asking for quality, experience, and players who can handle Europe.
If the board genuinely believe in him, then they need to show it. Not in late August. Not after dropped points. Now.
Standing still is going backwards*
Other clubs are strengthening. Other clubs are moving quickly. Other clubs are preparing for Europe properly.
Celtic? We’re talking about “working behind the scenes” while the window drifts away.
Celtic fans aren’t stupid. We saw what happened against Kairat Almaty. We know what happens when our squad isn’t reinforced. We know when a club is gambling with momentum.
Bottom line…
Last season’s failure in Europe should have been the wake‑up call. Instead, it’s being repeated.
Celtic cannot afford another slow, reactive window. MON needs backed properly. The squad needs strengthened. And supporters deserve better than recycled quotes and missed opportunities.
