Chris Sutton wants Celtic to step up their summer transfer window business, feeling they’ve done little to strengthen last season’s treble-winning squad. The Bhoys have completed the signings of Odin Thiago Holm, Marco Tilio and Yang Hyun-jun, but crucially have sold one of the squad’s best, most popular players in Jota. Sutton understands that patience…
I too would love to see big signings being made for our club, more so to give us more chance of competing respectably in the Champions League this year.
Hopefully with the inflation in the current player market, I’d hope we don’t have to pay £7-10 million (which is expensive for us) for bang average players who aren’t even at the top of their game.
Just look over the road at the massive gambles old nipple face has been taking on Z-list players who once had a bit about them but now no one wants them. If these guys don’t work out in his “exciting rebuild” - Barry Ferguson - It will be nice to see the TRIFC 2012 gaffer sacked before Christmas for spending all the latest loan money on duds.
I hope Rodgers spends wisely and gets a bit of quality cover for us.
I also think, IMO, that if we can get £10-15 million for Matt O’Riley, the guy should be sold. I felt Aaron Mooy was a more intelligent central midfielder for us last season and would have picked him before O’Riley most weeks too. Just my opinion though
