Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis today delivered the performance his Hoops career was in desperate need of as we overcame Dundee at Parkhead. It was a topsy-turvy clash for the Bhoys as we were forced to dig deep to secure a priceless 3 points that extends our lead at the top of the Premiership to 3.…
The manager almost cost us the points today! Why on earth is he playing Juranovic at left back? And Maeda as a left winger? And Hatate is not fit and can’t impose himself on the play! Abada should have been on the right all afternoon and Jota on the left. Hurry back Turnbull and Kyogo.
In fairness to the team, Dundee sat in all game and forced us to try and create things from out wide all the time. Was a tough shift and playing Thursday night may have taken a bit of edge from the squad.
But all in all, we worked away at another boring team parking the bus, living to counter. We got the 3pts and capitalised on TRIFC 2012’s slip today
Very strange comment about the game today. A complaint about Maeda playing on the left when he gets an assist from the left for the second goal. Juranovic had a decent game at left back and I don’t think he was at fault for either goal, so not sure how these choices by the manager almost cost us the game. Also calling for Kyogo to be rushed back on a day when one of our other main strikers scores a hat trick seems strange and pointless. It was a great win today, but as others have already said, we really need to get more switched on for set pieces. I’d be really interested to know if anyone has the stats for set piece goals we concede against the number of set pieces we face. Are we really that bad at defending them or is it just that most of the few goals we do concede are from set pieces?
