The Celtic supporters aren’t having the prospect of Gordon Strachan returning to take over as manager anytime soon. Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, journalist Ian McGarry said that he’s been told Celtic would likely go for a former manager should they sack Neil Lennon: “We have been told that if Celtic were to make…
Only my opinion here , as to this topic, no we don’t want to be thinking long term on finding a manager , it’s SHORT term ! Right now we have 5 months before the split , far enough in without having to rethink strategies and formations with some ‘magician’ that I guess you’re looking for ,no , we have to wipe the slate , roll our sleeves up and get tore in !
I still believe and would prefer that Neil Lennon will continue on as manager, it’s his assistants that have to go , the man needs help , Kennedy ?Useless ! Out! Lawwells wee pet. Hammond , don’t start me! A solid back room team can help pull this team together , and our players really have to turn things up a bit , they’ve chucked it . Do we sack the team ffs? Ideally , the two would be Paul Lambert and Henrik Larsson. I’d have Gordon Strachan back as chief scout. Give Neil Lennon his chance . Who else can come in and majorly turn things around instantly? Don’t believe things are all good with the players either, and a new manager will come in promising us 10 in a row ?
We are all Neil Lennon!? Hail Hail
Lennon for me has had long enough to turn things around, and I personally believe we’re far enough in now to make a change. The biggest risk we can take for me is to keep him on and continue this slump in form. I think his in-game management has been absolutely terrible over the last 10 months or so. Cluj, Copenhagen, Ferencvaros, Sparta Prague, Rangers (x3). All of these matches have seen horrible game-management decisions/tactical decisions. I believe if Neil Lennon was any other manager then he wouldn’t have gotten the job in the first place. His Celtic background secured it, especially given the manner of his departures from Bolton and Hibs. If we’re going to start restructuring things properly in the summer, and I think that was always the plan, I would be inclined to make the move now and see if the new manager bounce could help give us some momentum, whilst also giving any new manager the chance to assess his players before January, and more importantly the summer. The fact that it may take a magician to get us out of this situation shows how poorly a job Neil has done this year for me. So that’s where I am. I think a change is necessary, and it gives me no pleasure to say it. A new manager is our best chance to securing the 10 for me.
