We have our first link for January. We’ve bid for him before. Brendan Rodgers Celtic transfer target back on shortlist as scouts make numerous trips to watch star in person
If it’s another striker we’re looking at, I reckon there’s pros and cons to be taken from that.
Pros being more quality to call on as well as keeping the current forwards on their feet.
Cons being 3 guys trying for 1 spot unsettling some not to mention another (large for Celtic) big transfer fee that may be involved.
Great to see us aiming for more quality in the squad. I guess once we’ve got what we’re looking for, it’s up to Rodgers and co to earn their crust and use the squad as effectively as possible to keep us competing well in every comp we’re in.
Brendan likes 3 strikers to fight for a spot but not sure Kvistgaarden - if the club will have to spend big - will be willing to sit on the bench as a third choice.
But it’s definitely the type of signing the club should be targeting!
I’m more thinking the money we spent on Idah.
The alleged £9.5million we paid was way too much in my opinion. If we shell out another £8-10 million on a striker, I think that shows we’re happy to waste money too?
It’s a good point re Idah and the amount spent. But he did succeed on loan last year and the board felt they had to make a statement.
I think, anyway, that’s what they’d have felt.
Spend money for another striker nah, bringing in the reserves striker would be more than welcome and enough. Only need a player 4 a player leaving, winger or midfielder as said b4.
I’m getting a bit concerned reading more and more that we are interested in signing Jonjoe Kenny?
The guy was rotten for us during an absolutely rotten season. There is no way he is better than our current Ali Johnston/Tony Ralston right back options.
For me, I’d see Celtic signing this guy as a massive backwards step.
Hopefully the media are clutching at straws to try to add some negativity between our fans and our recruitment department before the upcoming January window.
