Neil Lennon has hinted that the three loan players at Celtic will have their futures decided at the end of the season. The Hoops currently have Shane Duffy, Mohamed Elyounoussi, and Diego Laxalt on temporary deals. All three are scheduled to go back to their respective clubs at the end of this disastrous 2020/21 campaign.…
It’s a shame because Elyounoussi is a class player on his day and I wonder if a better manager may unlock his abilities and his consistency?
I think in the end we need to clear the decks as much as possible with a view to building a new squad with a new way of player/tactic/formation in mind. And I wouldn’t stop at just clearing out the loan signings.
Duffy wasn’t good enough and now that his confidence is shot to pieces, the kind thing to do would be to send him back to Brighton. For the other two loanees they are class on there day, this is why this crap board need to act now and get a new manager. It gives him time to assess them and to see if he can get consistency out of them for the rest of the season. But instead we’ll be stuck with Lenny faltering away until the end of the season and then Lenny will attempt a summer rebuild which will fail at the 1st hurdle for a third season in a row (CL qualifiers!).
