Mark Wilson hits out at Celtic board for preparation this season

Former Celtic defender Mark Wilson has pointed fingers at the club hierarchy for their failure to prepare this season. The Hoops had a massive rebuilding job over the summer after bringing in Ange Postecoglou as the new boss. However, things have quickly taken a disappointing decline. Firstly, CEO Dom McKay left for personal reasons in…

All this omnishambles and not one word from anyone on the board. Although this doesn’t really surprise me as they all dance to Desmond’s tune and aren’t allowed a voice. The only way forward for the club would be to remove the board and Desmond to sell his shares to people who actually care about the club. I am still embarrassed at our inability to beat the Livi bully boys.

I agree the number one reason for our ineptitude this season is the board and DD who are reluctant to change in the right direction hence they got rid of Dom McKay- however you paint over it. But it’s been like that for years and I don’t see any changes coming when the supporters keep buying season tickets and merchandising.
As regards Livi, I think the blame is on Ange and the coaches as much as the players. Ange selected the team including a start for James McCarthy, playing Rogic and Turnbull together, a single striker and making substitutes late on and all three at the same time. JK has been coach when Celtic played Livi away on the previous occasions without a win (under BR and NL). Each time the strategy was the same. Didn’t he inform Ange of this? Well Ange adopted the same game plan and we lost to a counter attack. Who’d have thought that?
