Nicolas Kuhn's resurgence

Did anyone last season quite expect Nicolas Kuhn to deliver what he has done this campaign?

After the winger’s goal and assist vs Kilmarnock, he now has 21 goal contributions in just 17 games for Celtic this season - impressive stuff. It’s been a transformational turnaround.

Also, can you think of any other Celtic players in the past who started poorly but went on to be loved by the fans?

I was heavily underwhelmed by Kuhn last season. I thought we’d picked up a dud who we’d struggle to sell (same boat as Haksabanovic).

This season has seen a total 180 degree flip in Kuhn to mine and many other fans’ delight!

Thinking he’s now grasped the way we play and how he fits into the picture. It’s great to see that even when our out and out strikers are struggling for goals, our midfielders and wide forwards are chipping in with many crucial goals for us.

He defo looks like a different player now. But I would never have guessed he would have been this good. One player that sticks in my head who came good was Bobby Petta under Martin O’Neill. On his day he was unplayable.

To be honest I expected some form of improvement due to him having the opportunity to have a good pre-season but nobody could’ve envisaged this!

I suppose this is the power of Brendan Rodgers at work though, he’s got a knack for squeezing an extra 10-20% out of players. I don’t like the phrase ‘like a new signing’ but it’s certainly applicable here with Kuhn.

Never thought I’d see Kuhn compared to Bobby Petta… but hard to argue!

Hi gkirkpatrick97, PaddySinat1888 and seanmarkus67, welcome all of you to 67 Hail Hail, happy posting.
When Kuhn arrived, he had medical issues, so it must have been very difficult for him, not only that, but he is in a new team, a different country, a different culture, so he had all that to deal with.
But that’s all behind him now, he’s fit and well and truly integrated into the team and appears to love Glasgow from what I’ve read.
When Jota left, I thought we would never find a replacement for him, but now I truly believe we have.
The guy is on fire, long may it continue. :four_leaf_clover: :four_leaf_clover:

The reason for our under preforming from the strikers is easy, Brendan Rodgers. Telling all to shoot and not pass, Kyogo he gets the scraps, Idah isn’t on long enough to show what hes got. Wingers were for crossing not scoring, look at Maeda for example. A striker 2 midfield 2 winger 2 come in and score? All our life brought up with pass 2 striker scoring. Hence our winger most likely to be sold in the summer, as I pray not the winter. But it will depend on how much offered, over £40m now.
