Not the end of the world

Drawn this game was disappointing but in the grand scheme of things not so terrible as far as our standing in the league goes.
This was a game that could have given some of our fringe players the chance to impress, and show BR what they can do, but I’m afraid some of them failed miserably.
The biggest culprit in my eyes was Luis Palma, whenever he got the ball he looked totally lost and didn’t know what to do with it.
The rest of the fringe players were no better.
To be brutally honest, the whole team played poorly.
Too many misplaced passes, too many touches on the ball, not enough balls into the box, not enough shots on target.
I could go on and on, but at the end of the day we are still 9 clear of Rangers and 10 clear of Aberdeen, and also have an impressive goal difference.
This is a game to move on from, but we need to play much better in the next on, that’s for sure.

For me, I thought Yang was the biggest culprit showing he doesn’t have it to be in our squad.

He offered absolutely nothing from his position which helped to starve Kyogo as well.

These games that we keep getting pushed wide by teams focussing on staying narrow through the middle, we need a bit of flair (Big Tam Rogic style) to go at our opposition. We need someone who will run at the teams, beating a few men and creating space for our guys who are being crowded out.

A certain Portuguese winger has fallen out of favour at Rennes? A wee loan with option to buy deal till the end of the season could brighten things up?

You’re right, I forgot to mention Yang running around like a headless Chicken at times.
As far as the Portuguese winger out of favour in Rennes, I’ll just Jota that down for future reference, LOL.

Hoping our form over the last 4 weeks or so has been noted and is being worked on?

Since our cup final win our defence seems to be a lot more slack and our overall game plan seems to be getting picked off by teams.

Last year around mid December we slipped a bit too. Fortunately we had a small winter break which refreshed the players and got them recharged enough to kick on.

Don’t know if the players are tired or teams actually having a go at us is rattling the guys and making them lose concentration?

Guys I would have sworn by (Ali Johnson, Trusty, Hatate, McGregor, Taylor, Maeda and Kyogo) all seem to have gone off the boil and are making many more errors than before.

Small things in all though in that we’re still well in front in the league table. Would love to see us getting that “winning machine” notion back again though.

To be honest JeemoBhoy I am lost for words.
The game against Dundee was an absolute shambles.
The whole team played badly, but two players in particular had a shocker, and they are Idah and Trusty.
Idah because he had so many chances to score but squandered them.
Trusty because his defending was shockingly poor.
I don’t know the reason for the downturn in our form, I can only put it down to too many games over a short period of time.
I also think that BR got his selection wrong, Why were Kuhn and Hatate on the bench, in my opinion they are two of our most dynamic players and should have started.
We need to get back to winning ways ASAP, as a 13 point gap can be whittled down and disappear altogether if we don’t.

I thought we looked very disjointed against Dundee, similar to how we played at Ibrokes.

No one seemed to be on the same page with rushed passing leaving massive gaps to be exposed.

Maybe we’ll see fresh faces this window which will hopefully make everyone raise their game a bit? Like you said, it would be tragic to see our points gap lead at the top whittled away from taking our eye clearly off the ball.

After watching us at Easter Road today, I have to ask if we’ve become too predictable to most of our domestic opposition?

We always seem to have lots of the ball but lack penetration by spending too much time letting teams get back and regroup.

Today’s game showed me that a creative ball carrying midfielder would add a good dynamic to our game as well as a striker with good positioning to work well with the pace we have on our wings.

Thought Idah, McCowan and Taylor were miles off it today and merited their half time showers. Hatate struggled though when he was on, I would have liked to have seen a bit more from him.

All up though, still 10 points clear at the top. We can hopefully use this as a marker to start better in games and not leaving it late to climb mountains

Oh well, the gift that keeps giving (our newest Glasgow rivals) couldn’t take the golden opportunity we gifted them?!!!

Still 13 clear

You know what, when we lost to Hibs I was gutted.
Then Rangers lose to St Mirren at home, no less.
Then I was elated.
My opinion is that we need at least 3 or 4 teams in our league competing for top spot for us to be taken seriously in Europe.
Also to be regarded as a strong league.

I too agree we need more domestic competition so our guys are ready to consistently play quality football against anyone.

It is nice seeing TRIFC 2012 constantly dropping the ball though!

As for this “takeover” they’re all dreaming of???

This 49ers group have merely set up a better boardroom structure at Leeds, the example people are all clinging to.

It’s Leeds who have sold some of their prized assets in the filthy rich English market that has made them their current £100 million (or so) profit.

They have then set about spending less on replacements who can be coached to the level of the departures. A lot like the business model Celtic have been using for years and bearing plentiful fruit.

Who would want Dessers, Souttar, Yilmaz, Tavernier etc in the first place never mind pay them astronomical fees for these duds?

Loving watching all the dreaming going on at Ibrokes. Think they’re all so deluded in searching for the “magic wand”!

As long as we keep going and reinvesting wisely, we’ll easily stay streets ahead of our newest Glasgow rivals both on and off the park
