Drawn this game was disappointing but in the grand scheme of things not so terrible as far as our standing in the league goes.
This was a game that could have given some of our fringe players the chance to impress, and show BR what they can do, but I’m afraid some of them failed miserably.
The biggest culprit in my eyes was Luis Palma, whenever he got the ball he looked totally lost and didn’t know what to do with it.
The rest of the fringe players were no better.
To be brutally honest, the whole team played poorly.
Too many misplaced passes, too many touches on the ball, not enough balls into the box, not enough shots on target.
I could go on and on, but at the end of the day we are still 9 clear of Rangers and 10 clear of Aberdeen, and also have an impressive goal difference.
This is a game to move on from, but we need to play much better in the next on, that’s for sure.
For me, I thought Yang was the biggest culprit showing he doesn’t have it to be in our squad.
He offered absolutely nothing from his position which helped to starve Kyogo as well.
These games that we keep getting pushed wide by teams focussing on staying narrow through the middle, we need a bit of flair (Big Tam Rogic style) to go at our opposition. We need someone who will run at the teams, beating a few men and creating space for our guys who are being crowded out.
A certain Portuguese winger has fallen out of favour at Rennes? A wee loan with option to buy deal till the end of the season could brighten things up?
You’re right, I forgot to mention Yang running around like a headless Chicken at times.
As far as the Portuguese winger out of favour in Rennes, I’ll just Jota that down for future reference, LOL.
Hoping our form over the last 4 weeks or so has been noted and is being worked on?
Since our cup final win our defence seems to be a lot more slack and our overall game plan seems to be getting picked off by teams.
Last year around mid December we slipped a bit too. Fortunately we had a small winter break which refreshed the players and got them recharged enough to kick on.
Don’t know if the players are tired or teams actually having a go at us is rattling the guys and making them lose concentration?
Guys I would have sworn by (Ali Johnson, Trusty, Hatate, McGregor, Taylor, Maeda and Kyogo) all seem to have gone off the boil and are making many more errors than before.
Small things in all though in that we’re still well in front in the league table. Would love to see us getting that “winning machine” notion back again though.
To be honest JeemoBhoy I am lost for words.
The game against Dundee was an absolute shambles.
The whole team played badly, but two players in particular had a shocker, and they are Idah and Trusty.
Idah because he had so many chances to score but squandered them.
Trusty because his defending was shockingly poor.
I don’t know the reason for the downturn in our form, I can only put it down to too many games over a short period of time.
I also think that BR got his selection wrong, Why were Kuhn and Hatate on the bench, in my opinion they are two of our most dynamic players and should have started.
We need to get back to winning ways ASAP, as a 13 point gap can be whittled down and disappear altogether if we don’t.
