The comments on Celtic’s full-time tweet, some are balanced, some are downright ridiculous. What’s your thoughts?
Based on the actual game we played over there, I feel we weren’t ruthless enough due to our guys not playing their normal way. Too many silly fouls from haste, I think, showed how frustrated we were with Zagreb sitting in at times.
Based on the overall picture I also feel there are both positives and opportunities to be drawn.
Positives in that we’ve worked hard against some good teams to gain the 9 points we have as well as only falling to 1 defeat in the tournament so far. Any Celtic fan will be pleased to see the European progress from that.
Hindsight is probably driving all the media’s negativity in that 1 or more point at this stage would have us on 10 (+) and sitting pretty in the table.
We still have it in our own hands though. The guys will know we have to go at Young Boys Bern now which is well within our game plan. A full 3 points from that game will flip the media 180 degrees and reduce the pressure of the final game against Aston Villa.
In all, I think the guys on the park have done well and have grown in the number 1 European tournament. It is in our own hands to make a drive for at least 4 points from our last 2 games to easily get through to the playoffs. Just have to take it one game at a time though and keep the outside negativity out no matter how our results fall.
