Welcome back Jota, we missed you

Now that Idah is the main man up front, you can see his confidence coming to the fore, obviously his two goals against Villa were the catalyst for the boost in that feeling, and today you could see his level has increased now that he’s not playing second fiddle to Kyogo.
As for Jota, It was brilliant to see him back, not only that, but for him to score was brilliant, not only for him but also for us his beloved fans, and when he welled up I must admit so did I, it was an emotional moment, you could see how much it meant to him, and how much he’s missed these special times.
And of course we have the truly amazing Maeda, wow what a header from the wee man, he truly is a remarkable player.
All in all it was an excellent game with some first class one and two touch passing, if we play like that against Bayern Munich, you never know. :four_leaf_clover:

Even without a great degree of match sharpness, it was great to see Jota back on the scoresheet for us. Long may that continue :crossed_fingers:t2:

The money the Bhoy has made us in that short space of time and to go through the personal strain he put up with in the Middle East and France, I think his legendary status is undeniable.

Also good to see Idah scoring again too. I think if he can get on the goal trail (1 or 2 every other game for us), the angst about not getting a striker in the window can be reduced. If Idah is putting the goals in, the focus would then shift to the rest of the team and how we manage games to guarantee victories.

To be honest Jeemo, all the hype from the tabloids and the media about us desperately needing another striker is just that, hype.
We can very easily wait for the summer window to sort that issue out, because we have goalscorers right throughout the team.
If push comes to shove we can always use Maeda up front, as that’s the position he has occupied in the Japanese squad from time to time, he also played as a striker in the Yokahama team, so he’s no stranger to that role.
To sell two players for a combined figure of roughly £50 million, and buy them back for £19 million, bringing in a profit of over £30 million is a remarkable bit of business for the club, and they should be applauded for it.
