Why we can't underrate tonight's Ange Postecoglou achievement at Celtic

Ange Postecoglou took training for the first time at Celtic just over two months ago on June 24th. In that time he’s forged an attacking, exciting team, bounced back from a difficult start and now delivered tangible progress for his project. The achievement of reaching the group stages of the Europa League shouldn’t be underrated…

Celtic in Europe Again.

Celtic conceded two comical holwers in the first half and the possesion was 60/40 for the Dutch side in Holland tonight.

On 70 mins the posession was 50/50. Celtic harried and our brave defence sheltered us from a relentless attacking storm. The pressure was immense but the brave battling Celts were made of steely stuff.

The Dutch side were a match for us all the way but we contained them and won over the two legs of the final qualifying tie. The brave Dutch side were distraught at the final whistle and you felt for them. It could have been us.

I wonder how the group stage draw will go on Friday and it is exciting to be back in serious European competition again.

Bhoy oh Bhoy we are sailing now.

Accurate.
The Dutch probably were the better team over two legs.
Our weaknesses were glaringly obvious tonight.
The first goal we lost was for me, Welsh to blame. He allowed the ball to bounce off his chest and made the cardinal error of stopping.
While Hart was caught on the ball, he should never have been put in that position to begin with.
As for the second goal, I have to be honest, there is nothing I have seen from Starfelt that makes me fuzzy!
In my opinion, he is a waste of a signing.
We gave the ball away too cheaply and far too often.
But the big turning point for me was bringing on Eddy and forcing the Dutch to keep their back line in their own half.
Until then, everyone was attacking us.
Hail Hail Celtic.
A hard earned two leg victory against a very good side.

Starfelt is hopeless using his left foot (…and add heading from kick outs!)! AP had him on the left when he first came. EVERY single pass from defence went straight to young inexperienced Welsh. Welsh has the majority of time been responsible for passing out from defence. Starfelts passing stats were incredibly high BUT each pass was sideways to Welsh. On Saturday he played on the RiIGHT and he was a transformed player. Poor young Walsh played on the left of centre and AGAIN showed great flexibility nd I feel has played beyond his years. Tonight a hopeful ball lands in our box and Starfelts embarrassing swipe with his LEFT foot was nothing short of embarrassing. Please find a centre to play beside Welsh Big Julien is certainly not the solution as I feel he has a season ticket for the treatment table. Any player with such a sustained injury and lack of playing time hardly ever returns to anywhere near where they were …and where they were, I feel, wasnt that good anyway. We need a centre to head the ball, compete with big centres and can play on any surface. Hopefully time yet to find a solution. Huge credit to AP especially when you look at the bench. There were only 2 players you could have put on late on! Young Monty was a huge success. Onto Sunday with hopefully some new faces!

i don’t believe Ange picked Starfelt as a signing i think this was a panic buy at a suitable price for our penny pinching board and as usual it is not what we the fans deserve.
This board are happy to sell players at big profits but dont want to spend decent cash for a quality few defenders.
i wish some one would stand up and say it was me who watched Starfelt and advised we sign him as this has gone on too long money wasted signings.
